Introduction:We are looking for an experienced Asphalt Manager with a strong background in plant mechanics, dispatch/trucking, and team leadership. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual who excels at managing operations and overseeing a team, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Industry Knowledge/Experience:Production: Oversee the maintenance and operation of asphalt production plants and equipment, ensuring they are operating efficiently and in compliance with safety standards.Dispatch/Trucking: Coordinate the timely dispatch of trucks, ensuring on-time delivery of asphalt to job sites while managing traffic flow and delivery schedules for maximum efficiency.Personnel/Department Management:Crew/Team Management: Lead and manage a team of approximately 8-10 crew members, ensuring that everyone works efficiently and cohesively to meet project goals.Culture/Morale: Foster a positive team culture, ensuring a motivating and respectful environment that promotes high morale and productivity.Safety: Enforce safety protocols in accordance with OSHA standards and company policies, ensuring the health and safety of all team members while on the job.Production/Customer Service: Manage day-to-day production operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to customer specifications. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns or feedback promptly and professionally.Dispatch: Oversee dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient transportation of materials and crew to and from job sites.Quality Control: Ensure strict adherence to quality standards for asphalt production, placement, and compaction. Regularly review and assess the quality of finished projects, implementing corrective actions as needed.Qualifications:Significant experience in asphalt production, plant mechanics, and paving operations.Strong understanding of asphalt placement techniques, quality control, and production processes.Proven ability to manage a team, including fostering a positive culture, maintaining high morale, and ensuring safety on the job.Experience managing dispatch operations and coordinating trucking logistics to ensure efficient project execution.Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle challenging situations in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.A valid driver's license and ability to operate construction equipment as needed.Certifications in asphalt technology, safety (OSHA), or project management are a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during site inspections and supervision.EEO StatementWe consider applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, genetics, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, reproductive decision making, marital or protected veteran status.
