Westerlay Orchids, in beautiful Carpinteria, CA, is seeking a talented, experienced sales professional to join our team as a Key Account Manager. The position of Key Account Representative is responsible for negotiating sales deals and cultivating a positive, long-term relationship with corporate buyers. A critical aspect of this role is managing the daily expectations of Westerlay Orchids' customers in a punctual and professional manner. The Key Account Representative will be responsible for new product development as well as price negotiation and implementation. Collaboration and working effectively in a team environment are an essential component of this role. In this position, the representative will serve as a liaison between the customer and Westerlay to ensure the customer's expectations are met. As a member of the Sales Team, this seat will work closely with other sales team members to achieve departmental sales goals as well as members of other departments, including procurement and production. Effective clear communication and strong follow-through are essential. Additional responsibilities include, studying consumer purchasing trends, weekly data analysis and internal reporting, traveling to meetings, trade shows, and stores in the Western United States, navigating client portals, item setups, new business prospecting, and development. Duties and responsibilities:Build and maintain exemplary professional relationships with Internal teams and External Customer Account organizations to achieve maximum results on sales objectives. Establish relationships with buyers and key decision makers towards growing profitable revenue. Execute plans regarding distribution, merchandising, pricing, product placement and various programs with our customers.Travel to and meet with customers in the designated market to develop programs, discuss company initiatives and support the needs of the client. Maintain a detailed written understanding of our total marketplace Effectively communicate the needs of the client and convert those needs into action through clear, detailed, and timely internal reviews.Ensure operational excellence through flawless execution of new item launches, promotions, and committed programs.Plan, forecast & monitor all plant & hard goods inventory required for the proper distribution into the assigned accounts.Use analytics and insights to track the progress and performance of all programs. Report back to leadership and advocate for the changes necessary to optimize results.Planning for, participating in, and supporting trade shows, trade events, and major sales events.Creative thinker with a general awareness of gaps in the market Westerlay can partner with the key accounts to fill a desired need.Impeccable knowledge of the crop and consistent engagement with the operations and growing team to advocate for the production and distribution of the best plants into the market.Creation and adherence to existing internal processes, primarily the relationship between production and sales as it relates to fulfilling the customers' needsCOG "Cost of Goods" analysis for all new product offerings & annual reviews of existing SKUsManage, populate, and audit all customer documents (item offerings, set-ups, contracts) etc....Organize the custom customers server folder & assets (Documents, Photos, Videos)Document the customers org chart and contacts of interest (CRM/BC)Product management and development from concept to final shipManage the order processing flow from admin assistant through production to ensure accuracy, quality control & logistics alignmentManage the Westerlay GDSN/One World Sync product catalog for the assigned key accountNew business development within serviced divisions and new divisions Westerlay is not an active supplier ofActively monitor the supply chain and consult with the logistics coordinators to assist with solutions to best deliver the plants in an efficient, healthy & cost-effective mannerLead the internal customer discussion at all L10 & sales team meetingsManage iTrade/Procurement/EDI/Email order flow & facilitate processing directly or through the assigned administrative assistant Walking the greenhouse to review the shippable crop to determine the immediate gaps and sales needsSupervision of the production line specific to spot-checking quality, labeling, new item introductions & seasonal/promotional shippingSetting up new items in BC & managing existing items in BCTake on additional duties as assigned by the ManagementQualifications:Minimum 3 years of related sales experience in horticulture or CPG industries.Bachelor's degree or certification equivalency in a related field of practice.De, superior problem-solving and organizational skills.Strong analytical, and presentation skills and Excel proficiency.Ability to communicate and partner with cross-departmental positions. TravelMust be able to commute from one facility to another regularly. Travel to the corporate, divisional & appointed markets for meetings & research. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time non-exempt (hourly) position, and the hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Overtime will be required occasionally on a need basis. SalaryThis is an hourly, non-exempt position with an estimated annual compensation between $106k-118k, depending on experience.Westerlay Orchids offers a comprehensive benefits package for all full-time employees on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.100% employer-funded PPO medical plan for employees only.FSA and dependent care plan options are available on a pre-tax basis.Health Reimbursement Account plan that is employer-funded, we set aside a specific dollar amount to reimburse 75% of the employees annual deductible.50k term life insurance policy 100% paid for by Westerlay.Dental and Vision insurance6 accrued sick days per year, 2 weeks of accrued vacation per year.
