("Van Essen" or "Company")Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer - Southeast USA Reports to: Global Sales and Marketing ManagerPosition SummaryThe Southeast Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for sales of our Diver datalogger product lines by developing new business opportunities, leads, customer acquisition and retention as well as providing application, engineering and after sales support to our customers in the Southeast. In this role, the Technical Sales Engineer will drive sales with both direct end users and through distributors. This position will be based onsite in Tucker, GA and be expected to travel roughly 40-50% of the time visiting existing and prospective customers and distributors. Qualified candidates will receive product training at the Company's headquarters in Delft, The Netherlands.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, contact and close new sales opportunities with end users and distributors;Provide technical/application/training support to end-users and distributors;Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders in water management - waterboards, environmental consulting agencies, municipalities etc.;Develop and maintain an accurate and detailed pipeline in the Company's CRM, as well as track sales progress against quarterly/annual targets;Develop and execute effective sales strategies through inbound and outbound leads and communications;Prepare quotes and collaborate with internal teams as needed;Ensure distribution channels maintain regular and sufficient regional coverage;Regular communication and reporting with the Global Sales and Marketing Manager;Such other duties may be assignedExperience and SkillsMinimum of 5-7 years of proven experience managing distributors as well as closing direct sales with end users;Previous experience of selling products for environmental applications and/or experience in environmental consulting projects;Proven record of driving and forecasting sales, applications selling, pipeline development, and closing sales;Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills;Experience of using CRM to prospect, forecast, and report;Candidate must be a self-motivated, results-driven sales professional with self-confidence and discipline and the ability to work autonomously.Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals;CompensationBase salary $85,000-95,000, depending on candidate experience;Uncapped commission plan with quarterly and annual targets set by the Company;3 weeks paid benefit time;Medical, Dental, Life, Disability and 401k (with match) benefits provided.Company BackgroundVan Essen Instruments (VEI) was founded in 1938 by Cornelis van Essen in Delft, Netherlands.
