Responsibilities There is an exciting opportunity for an Outside Sales Associate in the St. Joseph, Missouri area working primarily with Altec Work Trucks. With in-house training and technical sales support, you will have the tools and network to be successful and to present solutions with confidence. We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to manage the non-hydraulic trailer sales segment, including reels, goosenecks, pole, Big Tex, cargo, and more. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for sales associates seeking trailers for customers, ensuring smooth, efficient, and professional interactions both internally and externally. Key Responsibilities: Act as the first point of contact for internal sales associates regarding trailer inquiries. Be the filter to pinpoint exact needs and, when possible, own the opportunity from quote to delivery. Provide quick and accurate information on product specifications, lead times, and pricing. Engage with external customers as needed, representing the company with professionalism and ensuring high customer satisfaction. Address internal and external customer needs promptly, including handling demos, in-services, and follow-ups. Utilize our stock and standard programs to identify key specifications and models. Collaborate with the product coordinator to ensure accuracy. Ensure high-demand trailers are readily available and maintain consistency in product offerings. Work closely with the product coordinator to align inventory with market needs. Analyze sales data to identify trends and high-demand products, providing recommendations and business cases for new products or inventory adjustments. Contribute to the development of MSRP price lists and standard product catalogs to streamline quoting and sales processes. Collaborate with the Salesforce team to enhance the trailer sales experience within the platform. Ensure a seamless customer journey from quoting and selection to order processing and delivery. Travel: This is a national role , and while the exact amount of travel may vary, candidates should be prepared for frequent travel. This includes: Customer satisfaction visits Trade events and industry expos Product demos and in-services Travel is an essential part of fulfilling customer needs and contributing to business growth. This role focuses exclusively on the non-hydraulic trailer segment, which includes reels, goosenecks, pole, Big Tex, cargo, and similar trailers. It does not include Pulling, Stringing & Tensioning Trailers or Fenex trailers. While collaboration with other teams is part of the broader company culture, your primary responsibility will remain within this specific trailer category. The job level is able to be adjusted at time of hire, if the candidate meets the qualifications for jobs of a more experienced level in the career path. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Four year Bachelors Degree required; Business or Engineering preferred. Two plus years of sales experience strongly preferred. Must be available for extensive overnight travel Able to obtain a CDL. Total communication and information processing skills are required. PC skills using spreadsheets, word processing, and other office management applications required.
