Job Title: California LCFS LCA Analyst - Dairy FarmsDepartment: Renewable Fuel ComplianceReports to: Director of Commercialization and CompliancePosition Overview: Aemetis is a renewable natural gas, renewable fuel and biochemicals company focused on the operation, acquisition, development and commercialization of innovative technologies that replace petroleum-based products and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We are seeking a California Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Analyst to drive sustainability efforts by performing LCA's on dairies with Aemetis biogas digesters using the GREET model. This role ensures compliance with California's LCFS and optimizes carbon intensity (CI) calculations to advance the monetization of our renewable natural gas (RNG).Key Responsibilities:· LCA Modeling & Data Analysis:o Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) of dairy farms with Aemetis biogas digesters using the GREET 4.0 model, ensuring accurate and timely data input.o Collaborate with internal teams to collect, analyze, and interpret data from the farms for accurate modeling and reporting.o Evaluate and optimize carbon intensity (CI) values for the dairy operations to ensure compliance with the CARB LCFS requirements.· Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:o Stay current on CARB LCFS updates and GREET 4.0 advancements.o Prepare and submit LCA reports, ensuring timely and accurate regulatory filings.o Support external auditors and validation personnel during certification processes.· Data Management & Quality Control: o Manage data inputs, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.o Implement validation procedures to maintain data integrity.· Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:o Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency in CI calculations and modeling.o Enhance LCA methodologies to reflect best practices and evolving regulatory requirements.· Support for Certification and Validation Processes: o Assist with the preparation and submission of supporting documentation for the validation and certification of carbon intensity values through CARB.o Respond to data and modeling inquiries from third-party auditors, validation personnel, and regulatory agencies.Education/Experience:· Education: o Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agricultural or Chemical Engineering, Finance or related field (Master's preferred but not required).· Experience: o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Life Cycle Assessment, with a focus on agricultural operations or dairy farm systems.o Proficiency with GREET and CARB LCFS compliance.o Familiarity with quarterly CI reporting cycles and regulatory submissions.· Skills:o Strong analytical and data management expertise.o Strong organizational and time management skills.o Proficiency in Excel and LCA software tools.o Ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights for diverse audiences.Working Conditions: Role may involve occasional travel and collaboration with external auditors or regulatory personnel.
