Position Overviews:The Senior Manager, Employer Engagement and Talent Development - Health Care will work directly with employers to support their talent development needs, including developing internship programs, apprenticeships, entry level and living wage jobs that lead to high mobility careers in the healthcare industry. The position will work to cultivate and grow relationships with existing and new employers and professional business organizations in the healthcare industry. In this capacity, the Senior Manager will contribute to the organizations mission of fostering equitable and inclusive employment outcomes for youth and young adults in the healthcare industry. The emphasis will be on securing placements in living-wage, sustainable jobs.Primary Responsibilities:Build Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key employers in the healthcare industry to promote job and internship opportunities for participants and program recent graduates.Employer Outreach: Proactively reach out to new and existing healthcare employers to promote talent pipeline programs, focusing on both internships and full-time roles.Job & Internship Development: Collaborate with employers to identify their workforce needs and develop partnerships that connect qualified candidates with relevant jobs and internships.Partnership Development and Volunteer Recruitment: Develop and strengthen partnerships with healthcare employers, organizations, educational institutions, and workforce development programs to engage as volunteers in UNITE-LA programs, fostering their connection to diverse talent pipelines.Market Insights: Stay current on trends in the healthcare industry, including skill requirements, hiring patterns, and emerging technologies to guide both program leads and candidates.Recruitment Events: Supporting recruitment events such as career fairs, professional networking programs, and employer-hosted workshops to connect healthcare employers with diverse talent.Data Management: Track and report on employer engagement activities, job and internship placement rates, and feedback from both employers and candidates to assess success and refine strategies.Diversity & Inclusion: Advocate for diversity and inclusion initiatives by promoting opportunities with employers who prioritize diverse, inclusive hiring practices (i.e. fair chance hiring) in the healthcare industry.Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned, contributing to the broader success of the organization's goals and initiatives.Skills for Success:Effective Communication: Demonstrates clear and effective written and verbal communication tailored to diverse audiences, such as funders and the business community.Collaboration & Teamwork: Proven ability to collaborate seamlessly with internal teams and external partners, fostering productive working relationships.Customer Service Excellence: Provides timely, professional, and accurate information, ensuring high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders.Problem-Solving: Skilled at identifying challenges and obstacles, formulating solutions, and engaging others to implement effective strategies.Adaptability: Responsive to changing priorities and demands, actively embracing opportunities to support change and encourage new ideas and perspectives.Commitment to Inclusion: Actively seeks and values diverse perspectives, engaging all stakeholders with respect and self-awareness to foster an inclusive environment.Preferred Skills and Experience:Industry Expertise: Proven experience and successful outcomes working within the industry, particularly in developing and managing talent development initiatives.Employer Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working with employers to design and implement apprenticeship and internship programs that support workforce development.Stakeholder Engagement: Extensive experience working with both public and private sector stakeholders to support young adults, fostering strong partnerships across various levels.Program Development: Skilled in creating and managing programs that support young adults experiencing extensive barriers to education and employment, ensuring alignment with industry needs and growth opportunities.Event & Meeting Management: Experience planning, organizing, and executing high-caliber meetings and events, ensuring seamless coordination and impactful outcomes.Project Management: Proficient in developing work plans to monitor program progress, ensuring milestones are met and objectives are achieved.Technology Proficiency: Familiar with CRM and project management tools (e.g., Salesforce, Asana), utilizing these platforms to track progress and manage tasks efficiently.Position Details:This is a full-time exempt position. While many staff continue to regularly work remotely, attendance at our downtown Los Angeles office or local offsite locations is expected several times throughout the year. Occasional travel may be required. The Senior Manager, Talent Development and Employer Engagement - Health Care will report to the Associate Director, Inclusion and Community Partnerships. This position will work closely with the Workforce Programs team, as well as the Senior Vice President, Programs and Talent Development. Compensation:The starting salary for this position is $72,000-$78,000, and the full range is $72,000 - $89,250. If you are offered a position at UNITE-LA, your final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant skills, experience and/or education.
