WHO WE AREHEIDENHAIN CORPORATION, a leading manufacturer of encoders and motion control electronics and related software, delivers digital readout, metrology, motion systems and CNC controls, is seeking a highly motivated, self-starting Western Sales Director for our Fremont, CA office. HEIDENHAIN's core business includes its customers in the Machine Tool, Semiconductor Manufacturing and Robotics Automation Industries. HEIDENHAIN's group companies additional serve heavy industry, logistics, renewable energy, medical equipment, life science applications and other market segments needing advanced motion control solutions. WHO YOU AREYou have a minimum of bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or business and have a minimum of ten years of experience.You have experience using Strategic Selling methods and Consultative Selling techniques.You have previous experience in scaling business volume exceeding $40M annually.You have managed other field sales representatives, insides sales and customer service staff. Key account management of OEM customers, particularly in semiconductor and electronics equipment manufacturing, including motion systems technology, would be a strong advantage. WHAT YOU'LL DOReporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for the sales department activities and customer development activity within all market segment and brands supported by HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION. This includes managing the field sales assigned to the Western Sales region and coordinating with business development staff. Represent HEIDENHAIN Corporation to customers, corporate group colleagues, and other stakeholders in matters related to the sales function or in the case of negotiation escalation. Represent customer requirements to HEIDENHAIN Corporation, Dr. Johannes HEIDENHAIN, and various HEIDENHAIN group companies. Work closely with the CEO and other colleagues identify strategies, sales goals, target markets and customers for the sales department, reporting progress regularly.Maintains sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories; projecting expected sales volume and margin for existing and prospect customers.Implement sales programs by developing field sales action plans. Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Establish and manage effective programs to compensate, coach, appraise and train sales personnel. Coordinate sales activities between global accounts. This is hybrid office and field role with minimum of 50% travel expected.
