They want this person to be able to speak the same language as their Innovations group but also be able to translate that to their commercial team (marketing / sales). This person needs a B2B focus in product development and marketing and theyd like for them to have an education in Chemistry but have work experience in MarketingSummary of the Position:The Director of Product Management is responsible for the portfolio of products within the professional businesses with the objective of driving profitable growth and market share expansion. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify new product opportunities, evaluate market trends, and create a roadmap for innovation projects. The position will serve as an integral member of the innovation process by developing opportunities into the optimal market solution through business case analysis, strategic alignment, and defined value propositioning. A strategic mindset and a technical product background within animal or human healthcare, medical devices, or a related life sciences industry will be crucial to the success of this individual.Experience and SkillsBachelors degree in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.Experience within animal or human healthcare, medical device, or a related life sciences industry.7+ years of marketing or sales experience with 3+ years of product marketing or related experience.Minimum Requirements:Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.Creative marketer with the ability to craft brand and product experience that deeply resonate with target audiences.Excellent leadership and project management abilities, with a track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering successful innovation projects.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.Results-oriented mindset with a passion for driving innovation and achieving business growth.Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Roles and Responsibilities:Lead new product development projects through the stage gate process working in collaboration with internal partners such as innovation, finance, supply chain, sales and marking.Direct support teams in developing business cases, go-to-market strategies, value propositioning, product messaging and claims.Partner with channel marketing and sales on product commercialization including asset and campaign development.Oversee the professional product portfolio to drive profitable growth and sustainable competitive advantage.Develop and manage product lifecycle strategies including launch, growth, access, modification, and rationalization.Lead cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new product opportunities based on market insights, customer needs, profitability, and business objectives.Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market gaps, and consumer preferences.Collaborate with external partners such as suppliers, research firms, and universities in tandem with innovation to bring new ideas and technologies to the company.Partner with internal teams on strategies to enhance product efficacy through the monitoring and sponsorship of third-party clinical research.Track the performance of innovation initiatives, utilizing key metrics such as product vitality to assess their impact and adjust strategies as needed.
