As a growing company dedicated to excellence in our industry, we are seeking a motivated, talented and collaborative individual to join our team as Business Development Manager - Natural Channel. This role will report directly to the Chief Sales Officer and have ample opportunity to grow and thrive. The Business Development Manager for Natural Channel ensures overall account performance goals are achieved and volume and profit objectives are exceeded for assigned Natural Specialty accounts, the top account being Whole Foods Market. This role is responsible for annual Net Sales delivery, managing trade promotion spend, driving marketplace share growth, partnering with key retailer decision makers to grow their category and working across functions within the organization. This position will assist in the strategic development of the assigned accounts and will promote effective customer relationships, partnering with key individuals at all levels within the customer organization while gaining a full understanding of customers' needs, anticipating changes in the business environment, and further establishing Insignia International as a leader in the eyes of the customer. This role collaborates with the Insignia Sales Strategy and Management Team to establish a growth platform, identifying business opportunities, setting and communicating priorities and coordinating appropriate resources to achieve desired results.Job responsibilities:Develop the annual operating plan and drive the planning process.Collaborate with cross-functional team to execute annual operating plan and strategic KPI's. This includes implementation of sales growth platforms, monitoring and analysis of business performance, budget management, retailer partnership across various functions, and ownership of volume, profit, and share results.Achieve and maintain a positive rapport with customer partners to maximize potential opportunities, identify customer needs, and further develop key initiatives.Gain a clear understanding of customer priorities, identify and quantify growth opportunities, and communicate findings clearly to internal stakeholders.Lead selling efforts on innovation, core distribution voids and merchandising strategies to optimize product mix, placement, retails and maximize promotional plans.Develop, implement, and evaluate sales promotion plans, utilization of market development funds and merchandising vehicles and ensure execution, tracking, and review of all programs.Lead and manage key natural channel distributor partnerships (KeHE, and UNFI), including JBP roadmap, item and inventory maintenance, and program expansion.Assist in developing selling materials and presentationsFunction as a "hands-on" leader interacting with customer to provide exceptional support and direction.Improve processes, procedures and efficiencies related to customer business, supply chain and service by working cross-functionally with other business units.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree3+ years' experience in consumer package goods (CPG) sales.Financial experience including P&L management.Proven track record of developing sales plans and delivering results across complex businesses.Experience selling in the natural channel and with distributors (KeHE & UNFI)Exceptional sales skills including negotiation, account management, account penetration and strategic selling.Experience strategically assessing the market landscape, building and executing specific strategies to win business.Strong leader with the ability to motivate, take risks, and make decisions quickly.Ability to influence others up the organization, laterally, and below both internally and externally.High level of intellect with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" mentality.Strong degree of energy with a results-oriented mindset.Strong communication and listening skills with the ability to adjust style to effectively interact with external customers and internal personnel.Preferred Qualifications:One additional experience beyond direct selling that provides well rounded strategic understanding of sales strategy (i.e. Trade Marketing, Category Management, Business Planning, etc.)Direct experience working with Whole Foods Market a plus
