Business Development Officer (BDO) - Biotech Series APrefer experience in both in and out license. This candidate should have at least 10 year experience in large pharma BD or biotech BD with a strong deal sheet. We are looking for clinical stage drug deal experience.Identifying and pursuing strategic partnerships, licensing deals, and potential collaborations for a young biotechnology company in its Series A funding stage, requiring a strong scientific background, market analysis skills, and experience in negotiating complex deals within the biotech industry, with a focus on building relationships with potential partners to accelerate the companys product development and market entry strategy. Key Responsibilities:Market Analysis and Opportunity Identification:Conduct thorough market research to identify potential licensing opportunities, strategic partnerships, and new business development avenues aligned with the companys therapeutic focus and technology platform. Lead Generation and Relationship Building:Actively network with key players in the biotech industry including pharmaceutical companies, venture capitalists, research institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to establish and nurture relationships. Deal Structuring and Negotiation:Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies, including deal terms, milestones, royalty structures, and other contractual elements for potential licensing agreements, collaborations, and joint ventures. Scientific Due Diligence:Evaluate potential partners technology platforms, clinical data, and intellectual property landscape to assess the strategic fit and commercial viability of potential collaborations. Internal Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, clinical development, legal, and finance to ensure alignment on business development strategies and execution. Pitching and Presentation:Prepare compelling presentations to communicate the companys technology, market opportunity, and value proposition to potential partners. Deal Closure and Contract Management:Manage the entire deal negotiation process, including legal documentation, contract review, and execution to ensure successful partnership implementation. Required Skills and Experience:Scientific Expertise:A strong understanding of biotechnology principles, drug development process, and relevant therapeutic areas. Business Development Acumen:Proven track record of successfully identifying, developing, and closing business deals within the biotech industry, ideally with experience in Series A stage companies. Market Analysis Skills:Capability to analyze market trends, competitor landscape, and identify potential market opportunities for the companys technology. Negotiation Skills:Excellent negotiation and communication skills to structure and close complex deals with key stakeholders. Networking Abilities:Strong network within the biotech industry to identify potential partners and build strategic relationships. Communication and Presentation Skills:Ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Education and Background:Advanced degree in life sciences (Ph.D. or M.S.) with a strong emphasis on relevant therapeutic area is preferred. MBA or equivalent business degree is a plus. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in biotech business development, ideally with experience in a Series A company
