Open and Close Dates: Jan 14, 2025 - Jan 24, 2025 Marketing Statement: Summary: This position is located in the Continuous Vetting (CV) Unit, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S Department of State (DoS), Rosslyn, VA. You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for directing the conduct and certifying the sufficiency of initial pre-employment investigations and periodic update of reinvestigation of employees and special access program eligibility to determine suitability/security clearance eligibility. All the relevant skills, qualifications and experience that a successful applicant will need are listed in the following description. Major Duties: Who May Apply: Job Status: Duration Appointment: This is a non-status, non-permanent Personal Service Contract (PSC) position. PSC's do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Conditions of Employment: Education: Education requirements do not apply to this vacancy announcement. Requirements: Qualifications: Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. Applicants applying for the GS-12 must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying statutes and authorities related to the personnel security field to administer personnel security programs. Experience implementing new or modified personnel security policies, standards, and criteria. Experience identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions to complex, sensitive and controversial issues related to all personnel security programs.
