We are looking for a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join our Gentle Heart Recovery Corporate Office team. Job duties: Accurately enters data into payroll and HRIS system as required Processes, accurately the biweekly and weekly, union and non-union payrolls with accuracy and efficiency Distributes paychecks and manages resolution of payroll discrepancies Reviews personnel changes including new hires, terminations, status changes and employee changes in the HRIS system that impact directly payroll processing. Accurately maintains the paid time off (PTO) and other HR data within the system, and back up excel spreadsheets as required Manages system improvements to improve the efficiency of the payroll and ancillary system processes. Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers, our employees and managers with payroll related questions and/or concerns Accurately prepares regular reports to include union dues, pension contribution, overtime, and others as requested/required Responds to request for information for audit purposes in a timely fashion Participates or leads employee engagement activities in order to improve employee retention Other Duties and Responsibilities: Offer suggestions for change or improvement of the human resource function Supports project related work as requested or needed Other duties as requested or assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associates Degree with minimum of 3 years' payroll processing work experience; or High School Diploma with minimum of 5 years' work experience in payroll processing High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Strong customer service skills dealing with internal and external customers; Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office platform, HRIS and payroll systems Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work responsibility. Deadline and detail oriented.
