We deeply care about our employees, prioritizing their growth, well-being, and success as integral to our shared achievements.As the Project Development Manager, you will be at the intersection of business development, project estimating, and production coordination, ensuring client needs are met with precision and care.Position OverviewThe Project Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving project success by developing detailed, value-driven proposals and fostering seamless collaboration across business development, sales, and production teams. This position combines strategic vision, technical expertise, and client engagement to support MSC's mission of delivering exceptional projects.Core ResponsibilitiesProposal Development & EstimatingPrepare accurate, comprehensive estimates for construction and enhancement projects.Project scope spans site work, masonry and landscape scope including but not limited to: Site WorkCivil Infrastructure and Utility related work Demolition and Site Preparation Activities Drainage and associated stormwater workEarthwork including site clearing, subgrade prep and finish grading Masonry WorkBuilding veneer and specialty masonry applications Landscape masonry including but not limited to vertical masonry walls, masonry steps, flat masonry work both substructure and finishes Custom masonry features such as fire elements, outdoor cooking areas, water features, etc. Landscape Work Soils, mulch, sod/lawn related Irrigation installation (via subcontractors)Site elements (fencing, custom carpentry, etc via subcontractors)Planting Work Leverage historical data to refine estimates, aligning with client goals and budget constraints.Business DevelopmentPartner with the Sales and Marketing Leads to identify and pursue new opportunities.Actively participate in client meetings and presentations, building trust and rapport.Support the exploration of strategic markets, such as sustainability initiatives and ecological landscape care.Collaboration with ProductionWork closely with Project Managers and Field Managers to ensure proposals align with operational capabilities.Lead detailed handoff meetings to transition projects seamlessly from sales to execution.Provide ongoing communication and updates to production teams, ensuring alignment.Client EngagementBuild strong, lasting relationships with clients through proactive communication and exceptional service.Present proposals clearly, ensuring they reflect client needs and MSC's commitment to excellence.Vendor ManagementSolicit accurate quotes from vendors to support precise and competitive project estimates.Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing vendors, ensuring consistent quality and service.Discover and develop new vendor relationships to expand resources and foster innovation.Process ImprovementRefine and document estimating and project development processes to enhance efficiency.Contribute to the development of best practices for proposal creation and team collaboration.QualificationsProven experience in estimating, project development, or a related field within the construction or landscape industry.Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.Proficient in industry-standard estimating tools; familiarity with CRM software like HubSpot is a plus.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on collaboration.A proactive and adaptive mindset, aligning with MSC's core values.Key ValuesThis role embodies our core values, including:Accountability: Taking ownership of responsibilities and fostering trust through reliable delivery.Proactive Approach: Anticipating client and team needs, planning ahead, and documenting solutions.Team Contribution: Building strong internal relationships to deliver exceptional results.Communication & Documentation: Ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment in all interactions.
