Oversee and drive the overall business development strategy and execution within the United States for the companys CMC Small Molecule function. Manage a team of direct reports and work directly with executive leadership. Client Details My client is a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) specializing in the development and manufacturing of small molecule Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). With a global presence and a reputation for excellence, they are committed to delivering innovative solutions to our clients in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. They are seeking a Head of Business Development CMC located in the Greater Boston area. Description As the United States Head of Business Development CMC, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving the overall business development strategy and execution within the United States. Reporting directly to the global executive team, you will lead a high-performing team, including the Director/Senior Director of Business Development CMC, to achieve ambitious growth targets and expand their market presence. Develop and execute a comprehensive CMC business development strategy for the United States. Lead, mentor, and manage the business development team to achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the small molecule/API sector. Build and maintain strategic relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and partners. Collaborate with global leadership to align business development strategies with overall company goals. Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making. Represent the company at high-profile industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across internal teams to support client needs and project success. Profile Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related leadership role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Proven track record of leading and managing successful business development teams. Extensive understanding of CMC services. Deep understanding of the small molecule/API development and manufacturing process. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and ability to drive growth. Ability to build and maintain strong client and industry relationships. Willingness to travel extensively within the United States and occasionally internationally. Located in Greater Boston (relocation assistance applicable if necessary).
