Job Title: Inside Sales RepresentativeReports To: Director of SalesLocation: Vernon Hills, IL This role focuses on expanding key accounts and securing new business in a designated territory through proactive communication and follow-up on quotes. The position involves nurturing relationships across industries such as industrial, academic, government, and biotech, supported by a wide product portfolio. The individual will effectively communicate value propositions to customers while building strong business relationships at all levels. They will also identify and act on new business opportunities, pursuing leads and quotes to successfully close sales.Key Responsibilities:Achieve annual sales targets; implement company strategies for systems, contracting, and pricing.Foster relationships with key accounts via phone, email, and other communication methods; work closely with end-users and buyers to secure sales.Maintain relationships with various customer departments (e.g., Purchasing, Engineering, Laboratory, Quality); identify key stakeholders and meet their needs.Identify hidden customer opportunities and provide tailored solutions.Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Customer Services) to ensure customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships.Support key accounts by entering orders and quotes.Reactivate dormant accounts; identify accounts with high potential.Understand account management; develop strategies and present plans at business reviews.Research and develop new business opportunities in target markets such as biotech and clinical sectors.Stay current on product lines and systems through product/vendor meetings and trainings.Use supplier catalogs and databases to meet customer requirements and suggest alternatives when needed.Assist customers with purchasing decisions through product research, pricing, and availability checks.Maintain accurate records and files for proper customer management.Perform other duties as assigned.Education:Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.Experience:Minimum 3 years of inside/field sales or technical product experience, preferably in related categories.Qualifications:Proficient in Excel and MS Office; strong database experience desirable.Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships and conducting professional conversations with customers.Results-oriented, self-motivated; strives to achieve goals and targets.Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; able to learn product lines and analyze data.Customer-focused mentality to exceed customer expectations.Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Strong selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.Thrives in a fast-paced environment, handling pressure and deadlines effectively.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong work ethic and adaptability to change.Ability to travel for training and team meetings (up to 10%).If you feel this could be the right fit for you, please do not hesitate to get in touch with nfordyce@.
