The Business Development Director will join an experienced team with the primary objective of driving additional contracted pipeline growth with municipal, cooperative and investor-owned utilities and generation and transmission (G&T) suppliers. With experience managing, building and strengthening relationships with prospective utilities, this role will be supported by project development, operations, legal and finance resources.Key Responsibilities:Develop business strategy to secure solar and solar + storage PPAsConduct market assessments to identify emerging trends and opportunities with off-take customersExecute on the strategy by securing and executing PPA / off-take agreementsLead the business development efforts to grow a significant contracted pipelineMaintain relationships with power off-takersEvaluate new markets and execute comprehensive business cases to enhance pipeline growthLead preparation of RFP responses and bilateral proposals for PPAs and other project opportunitiesAssist the team in preparation of contracts and other documentation required for completing development of solar and storage projectsPrepare and deliver applications, proposals, presentations, etc. to external stakeholders such as local government units and electrical utilitiesOrganize, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner to meet project schedules and budgetsCore Proficiencies:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience in PPA negotiations, with track record of successModeling solar and solar + storage benefits for potential customer / counterpartiesDeveloping product offering and delivering proposals which clearly demonstrate value propositionAbility to execute new project or product opportunitiesSelf-motivated and driven to exceed expectationsAble to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyDetail-oriented with excellent organizationCompletes work in a timely and professional mannerEffective working individually as well as with a teamAble to react quickly and problem-solve in quickly-changing environmentExperience working with both internal and external stakeholdersRequirements:Demonstrable experience in the industry, specifically with municipal and cooperative utilities and G&T suppliersProficiency with energy contract/PPA structuring and executionBachelor's degree in a related fieldExperience in a similar role or utilizing similar Core ProficienciesStrong analytical skills with knowledge of finance/business conceptsAbility to travel 25%Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPointKnowledge of and passion for the solar industry
