The Manufacturing Engineer will be essential to the ongoing growth of our client, developing and improving new and existing manufacturing processes based on customer specifications. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and offers a clear path to promotion down the line. Client Details Our client is a mid-sized precision machine shop serving customers across a wide range of industries, primarily in medical device and aerospace. They are family owned and pride themselves on a strong culture and high safety standards in their shop. This role will play an essential part in the manufacturing process and will report to the Engineering Manager. Description Lead in optimization of set-up cycle times and improvement of productivity standards by teaming with machine operators and set up personnel Set-up and troubleshoot CNC machines and provide support/maintenance of said machines Train operators on SOPs and develop work instructions easily interpreted by those in charge of machinery related functions Review customer specifications and drawings for manufacturability and cost Act as liaison to customers to ensure needs are being met Provide technical support to customers on issues of design and manufacturing Recommend design modifications to improve quality, cost, and manufacturability Write specifications for design, testing, and manufacturing of hand tools Develop and implement LEAN/Continuous Improvement initiatives to reduce waste and lower cycle times Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards Profile Bachelors degree in relevant field, or equivalent level of experience/education 4+ years manufacturing engineer experience, including tooling and fixturing design background Knowledge of using ERP systems 3+ years experience working with CNC lathes and/or mills CAD and Microsoft Office skills are required. Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
