Agriculture Engine large and small Construction Large truck On-and-Off highway Power transmission Process equipment Rail Seating Thermal transfer Turf care JOB PURPOSE Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing the production activities, job status, and directing employees within assigned department. RESPONSIBILITIES Direct and coordinate production operations, personnel, quality control, maintenance and related operations as they pertain to the department. Plan, organize, assign and schedule equipment workload. Work with mentor to instruct and train personnel on proper set-up of machines, fixtures, gauges and production jobs including teardown. Expedite production; investigate delays and initiate corrective actions to assure economical production through efficient procedures. Collaborate with and assist respective department supervisors to determine special customer instructions and adaptations as it relates to the production operations. Confer with organizational members to review the needs and requirements of the customer. Provide process status and technical information on an as needed basis for the Plant Superintendent, or other respective department supervisor. Enforce policies, processes and systems of the ISO quality management system in supporting the execution of the company business plan. Support the commitment of a safe work environment as stated in the Company's safety vision statement and the safety manual. Perform other duties as assigned. Determine operational sequence for equipment and create programs as needed. Provide guidance and assistance for machine set-ups, material handling, and blueprint reading with personnel as needed. Handle complaints, disputes, resolve grievances and conflicts with personnel. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE High School education supplemented by on-the-job training, including outside training. Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English with excellent communication skills. Successful completion of Pre-Employment physical. Minimum of three years experience in supervising manufacturing operations. Knowledge of manufacturing business, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of mathematics, including arithmetic, geometry, algebra, trigonometry, probability and statistics. Knowledge of computers including Windows and Microsoft Office suite.
