Were on the lookout for a dynamic Director to lead our Before and or After School Programs for the 2024-25 school year in Litchfield County, CT. As the Head Teacher, youll be the driving force behind every aspect of the operation of the Healthy Kids Program Site. JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt PAY: $20 per hour SCHEDULE: 7-9am and/or 3-6pm JOB CONSISTS OF: Guiding Compliance: Ensure that both staff and program adhere to state guidelines, Healthy Kids policies, and the rules set by our host school. Bringing the Fun: Direct engaging hands-on activities based on the Healthy Kids Curriculum, covering fitness, STEAM, academics, arts, and more. Managing Like a Boss: Take charge of essential management tasks, including maintaining accurate attendance and registration records, and ensuring proper staffing levels to keep the program running smoothly. Keeping Everyone in the Loop: Maintain open lines of communication with parents and family members through the Playground App. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively and regularly with your direct report, ensuring theyre up to speed on daily occurrences and addressing any issues that arise in a timely manner. Requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: To be qualified as a head teacher, a person must possess either: Option1: At least three (3) credits school age or elementary education from a regionally accredited higher education institution OR At least two hundred and forty (240) hours of documented supervised experience working directly with a group of school age children in a licensed child care program, licensed youth camp program or an equivalent program as determined at the sole discretion of the office. Option 2: A degree in any field from a regionally accredited higher education institution PLUS current (not expired) Connecticut State Department of Education elementary education teacher certification Option 3: A high school diploma PLUS completion of the 45 hours of school age / elementary education online training via OEC Registry account as designated by the OEC QUALIFICATIONS: Get ready to ace a background check.
