Who will you be working with?The Corporate Development Associate will report to the Vice President, Corporate Development, responsible for day-to-day management and execution of M&A transactions evaluation of M&A targets and maintenance of the M&A pipeline. In this capacity, the role will be part of a small core team working across the enterprise, leading deal teams comprised of internal and external resources This position will support the broader functional objectives of identifying inorganic business opportunities and managing relationships with entities important to Wabtecs growth strategy. The role will have high visibility with both Executive and Business Unit Leadership teams.How will you make a difference? You will participate as a key stakeholder in the strategic analysis and evaluation, connecting industry trends, product focus, market opportunities, valuation and other drivers to establish and manage an attractive M&A pipeline. You will lead deal teams comprised of internal and external resources while serving as a lead interface with the respective counterparties, planning and managing the due diligence process, providing deal models and key valuation metrics, building business cases, performing risk analysis, and presenting business cases to senior leadership.What do we want to know about you? Bachelors Degree from an accredited universityMinimum of 2 years of work experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Corporate Development is requiredFluent in English. Second language a plusExcellent financial analysis and valuation skills, including an understanding of merger/acquisition analysis and or related issuesExcellent organization skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent attention to detailProactive approach to project management and willingness to take ownership of projects with demonstrated experience driving projects and deliverables to completionExcellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to present to executive managementExcellent business sense and ability to understand and resolve complex business issuesCollaborative nature that enables the ability to interact and influence across all levels within and outside WabtecDynamic personality to lead and influence cross-functional deal teamsDemonstrated skills in strategic thinking, planning, and executionExperience working with global teamsWhat will your typical day look like? Create detailed driver-based business valuation Excel modelsIndirectly manage cross-functional teams to lead core phases of the M&A process including due diligence, financial modelling, analysis, valuation (in partnership with Finance), and business case developmentCreate PowerPoint presentations to support reporting on M&A strategy, targets, and progress to Executive and Business Unit Leadership teamsAssist the integration team with a post-close plan, as neededWhat about the physical demands of the job?Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to be in a seated position for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. at a time.You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary. The salary range for this role is between $86,000 - $159,000. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus.
