Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.HousekeeperReporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, the Housekeeper is a part of the department that maintains the common areas of the safe haven. Examples of common areas include offices, multi-purpose rooms, roof deck, garden, trash collection area, lobby, fitness room and sidewalks. Client areas will also be cleaned.This position has a 35-hour work week, onsite.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ** Sweep, mop, wash, dust, and vacuum* Seal, wax, and buff floors and hard surfaces* Maintain sidewalks, including sweeping, raking leaves, and shoveling snow* Clean individual units when vacated or requested by work order* Sort and package recyclables to comply with NYC regulations* Operate compactor* Set up and clean up for meetings and other events* Assist painters and engineers when assigned* Perform work at other facilities as required* Perform other related duties as assignedMINIMUM ** Comparable work experience* Experience operating of vacuum cleaner, high speed buffer* Ability to lift and move furniture, appliances, etc.* High School Diploma, GED, Trade School Diploma, or equivalent* Ability to stand for several hours during shift and to climb stairs in the event of an emergency* Experience working with special needs populations a plus* Basic knowledge of using a computer is a plus, but is not requiredAs part of our continued efforts to maintain a safe workplace for employees and clients, and in compliance with the City of New York COVID-19 Safety Requirement Mandate, Breaking Ground strongly recommends all employees, interns, volunteers, and subcontractors to receive an FDA authorized and/or approved COVID-19 vaccination and provide a one-time verification of immunization as a condition of employment.EOE/M/F/Vet/DisabledOther details* Pay Type Hourly* Min Hiring Rate $17.86* Max Hiring Rate $17.86Apply Now* S2H BQ - QUEENS, 100-30 Atlantic Ave, Jamaica, New York, United States of America
