Sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, mixing amalgams, cements, composites. Taking dental x-rays, maintaining records. Performing assigned lab procedures. Skills:1 year experience.Education:Valid certification to practice as a Dental Assistant issued by NYSED.Minimum Qualifications:A four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 600 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants; A four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent, including or supplemented by a course of study consisting of at least 300 instructional hours at an approved school for Dental Assistants plus six months full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing all of the following ***** taking, developing, and mounting dental radiographs, assisting dentist at chairside, sterilizing dental instrument using autoclave; orA four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent plus one year of full-time satisfactory experience as a Dental Assistant performing the duties described in 2 above; orA satisfactory combination of education and experience which is equivalent to 1, 2, or 3 above. However, all candidates must have at least a four year High School diploma or its educational equivalent.Experience as a receptionist or clerk in a dentists office is not acceptable towards meeting the qualification requirements.Languages: English - Read/ Write/ SpeakCertifications & Licenses: Dental AssistantSkills Required:DENTAL ASSISTANT
