Can you picture yourself here?STARTING RATE OF PAY IS $16 PER HOUR FOR LANDSCAPING SEASON AND COULD INCREASE FROM THERE DEPENDENT UPON PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE AND ANY CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES YOU HOLD.THE SNOW SEASON RATE OF PAY STARTS AT $23 PER HOUR AND COULD GO UP TO AS MUCH AS $33 PER HOUR BASED ON PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS/LICNESES YOU HAVE.THIS LANDSCAPING SEASON ROLE IS NOT AN EITHER/OR ROLE. THAT MEANS YOU MUST HAVE A CHAUFFEURS LICENSE AS YOU WILL BE UTILIZED AS BOTH A LANDSCAPER (DAILY) AND DRIVER (AS NEEDED).MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:•Valid Drivers License: Applicants must hold a valid drivers license.•Chauffeurs Endorsement: A chauffeurs endorsement or chauffeurs license is necessary.•MDOT Medical card: preferred Candidate already holds one. If you do not have a MDOT Medical Card you MUST be able to pass a Medical exam that includes a drug Test (this is a Federal requirement).In this role you will start as a Landscaper working 30+ hours a week until Fall Clean-Ups are completed or 12/13 which ever happens first. As with all outdoor work, weather could impact the days and hours you work as well as how many hours you work in a week during Landscaping Season.On or about 12/16 you would transition to SNOW ONLY work, meaning you will ONLY work when you are called in for a Snow Event that our year-round associates cannot handle by themselves. AGAIN, ONCE FALL CLEAN-UPS ARE COMPLETED OR AFTER 12/13, YOU WILL NOT REPORT TO THE BRANCH DAILY; YOU WILL ONLY REPORT IF CONTACTED TO DO SO FOR A SNOW EVENT. Snow Season work is ON-CALL and Part-Time, it also very often has Overnight or very early morning report times. Successful Snow Only Candidates may have the opportunity to Transition to Spring/Summer Operations. Heres what youd do:Landscape Truck Driver will be responsible for providing landscape maintenance support to a variety of industrial, commercial, and/or public properties. This role is responsible for safely operating commercial grade landscaping equipment and ensuring the upkeep of plant material and other landscaping elements.Youd be responsible for:Prepare Landscape Trucks for the day including:Load gas cans, mowers, and other equipment onto trucks/trailers.Secure all equipment onto trucks/trailers.Maintain and correctly use issued personal protective equipment.Safely operate vehicle in accordance with all traffic laws.Perform maintenance on industrial, commercial, or public properties including:Safely operate equipment with all necessary personal protective equipmentMow turf using various mowers.Edge grass at curbs and walkways.Blow leaves and clippings.Prune shrubs and trees as needed and clear debris.Pull weeds as needed.Clean site and watch for trash, limbs, and rocks.Plantings and Flower Installation:Prep soil uniformly for flower or groundcover installation.Plant material properly considering depth, size, placement, and spacing.Apply mulch appropriately for type of material.Water material correctly.Edge beds or establish new bed edges.Perform maintenance on equipment:Unload equipment from BrightView trucks/trailers.Wash equipment and truck.Change equipment blades and oil.Clean air filters.Grese machines.Conduct EDVIR on assigned vehicles.Other duties as assigned.Safely perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials, including, but not limited to backpack blowers, large containers of mulch/plant material, assorted sizes of lawnmowers, etc.Safely operate hand and power equipment, including but not limited to manual and powered sawing and cutting equipment.Leverage 80 lbs. of a walk behind mower over curbs.Be able to lift, push, or carry 50 pounds (mulch, fertilizer, etc.).Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day. Bending/kneeling up to 9 hours or more per day.Lift branches and limbs.Push, pull, grip, and squeeze various tools, products and/or items (e.g., pruning).Walk up to 10 miles a day, sometimes uphill and on uneven terrain, often while carrying, pushing, or pulling equipment, materials, or debris.Spray various pesticides/herbicides.Use hand saw. You might be a good fit if you have:Valid Drivers license.Some experience in lawncare helpful.Must be able to operate various lawn care machinery including mowers, edgers, backpack blowers.Must be able to operate various vehicles, with or without trailers.Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred, but not required.Ability to work in extreme conditions - temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.Work hours vary and may exceed 12 hours per day.Noise level may be loud at times and use of ear plugs may be required (e.g., outdoor conditions, backpack blowers, running mowers, week whackers).Equipment Operator; SnowHeres what youd do:The Snow Equipment Operator must be interested in learning to do all aspects of snow removal during the winter. Equipment Operator must also clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by policies and procedures.Youd be responsible for:Removing snow using a snow plow and heavy equipment for several hours at a time, depending on the amount of snowfallBeing available each time it snows and report either to a central location or directly to the jobsiteRemoving snow in appropriate locations, avoiding piling it on trees, shrubs, fire hydrants or sidewalksReporting any concerns or incidents to your direct SupervisorFilling out a job sheet as soon as you are finished working after each snow removal operationParticipating in maintaining a safe and secure work environment for team employees and clients by adhering to company safety policiesBeing aware of safety issues or concerns, and report them to the appropriate SupervisorPerforming other tasks as assigned by supervisor/managerYou might be a good fit if you have:High School Diploma or GEDValid Drivers License with a Chauffers endorsement and the ability to drive to a variety of work locations in assigned territoryReliable transportation to and from any work sitePrior experience operating snow plow equipment and heavy equipmentAble to work overnight in the winter monthsAnd while not mandatory, it would be great if you also have:Ability to participate in routine maintenance of equipmentExperience working efficiently in a production-driven / fast paced environmentPhysically able to work outside, sometimes in extreme weather conditions with sporadic hours based on a snow eventAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to climb in and out of equipmentAbility to sit for long periods of timeAbility to safely operate equipmentAbility to communicate effectivelyWilling to dress appropriately for all weather conditionsAble to work overnight in the winter monthDependabilityHeres what to know about working here:At BrightView, were a tight-knit crew who are as passionate about caring for our clients as we are about each other.
