This is an onsite position based out of West Palm Beach, FL.Firearms experience is required.Overall responsibility for assisting in the development, administration, and oversight of the Canik USA, LLC ("Canik USA") ATF Compliance Program. The ATF Compliance Manager, in conjunction with Canik USA executives and certain additional internal and external resources, ensures that Canik USA meets its objectives while maintaining compliance with operational regulatory authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice (including ATF), U.S. Department of the Treasury (including TTB), U.S. Department of State (including DDTC), and U.S. Department of Commerce (including BIS), and other federal and state government agencies, while reporting to the to the Company President.ResponsibilitiesDevelops, initiates, maintains, periodically reviews, and, when necessary, revises policies and procedures for the general operation of the Canik USA Compliance Program and its related activities, to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct, and to ensure continuing accuracy and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.Supervises other ATF Compliance staff in the maintenance and execution of all ATF Compliance functions.Collaborates with other departments Controller, Engineering, Human Resources, IT, Quality & CI, Operations, Legal to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.Consults with outside legal counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.Consults with ATF compliance staff and/or international trade staff at customer/partner entities to ensure contracts and other agreements are executed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and that all necessary or convenient regulatory authorities and variances (e.g., import licenses, ATF marking variances) are timely and properly acquired.Maintains appropriate relations with authoritative personnel at all regulatory agencies and facilitates visits of those personnel to Canik USA facilities.Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures by evaluating, or recommending the initiation of, investigative procedures. Develops and oversees systems for uniform handling of violations.Acts as an independent reviewer and evaluator to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately investigated, evaluated, and resolved.Monitors and, as necessary, coordinates compliance activities of other departments to remain continually advised of the status of all compliance activities and to identify trends.Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develops and/or implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.Assists relevant personnel to keep senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or stitutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting heightened awareness of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures.Works with Human Resources and others, as appropriate, to maintain an effective compliance training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for identified employees and managers.• Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.Ensure regulatory compliance under the GCA, NFA, AECA, and EAR for Canik USA's primary firearms activities;Ensure regulatory compliance for import matters under AECA and the EAR; andEnsure regulatory compliance for export matters, including exporting and brokering issues, under AECA and the EAR.Ensure all necessary manufacturing licensing agreements and technical assistance agreements are in place and consult outside counsel as necessaryThe ATF Compliance Manager works closely with IT in its efforts for ongoing support of internal control processes including evaluating software products, control procedures, and interactions with an external audit group.The ATF Compliance Manager will obtain and maintain, on a regular basis, an understanding of all new business processes including new products, overseas procurement, and complete documentation of related processes and controls to facilitate any non-organic growth.Qualifications &Knowledge RequiredTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree from an accredited four year college or universityMinimum of 4-6 years experience in compliance areas related to ATF.Experience in conducting internal audits.Ability to coordinate and manage certain efforts with third party advisors such as auditors, consultants, and legal counsel.Ability to manage multiple complex projects in a team environment and complete them in a timely manner and/or under tight deadlines.Ability to travel to compliance training seminars (e.g., NSSF-sponsored Import/Export Conference) (between 2 and 3 times per year).Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work independently as well as with a team; "hands on" as necessary.Capable of operating in an evolving and often unstructured environment.Ability to multi-task and switch gears quickly.Excellent attention to detail.
