IAT has an immediate opening for a Senior Actuarial Analyst / Associate Actuary supporting Property and Homeowners. This role will be responsible for both pricing and reserving functions and will collaborate with reinsurance, catastrophe management, and others to enhance our partners' technical expertise. In this role, you will be highly visible and impact areas of strategic importance for the organization. The ideal candidate will be ACAS or near-ACAS with at least six years of actuarial experience or have extensive experience in Property and Homeowners. The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and to draw insights from data is essential to this role. Responsibilities: Builds strong relationships with business partners to ensure business strategies are aligned with actuarial insights and analytics. Collaborates with the underwriting and claims department to produce loss reserves to be discussed with senior leadership and carried in the company's financial statements. Manages the production of highly technical actuarial analyses and reports to assist in monitoring and measuring profitability. Stays current with industry trends, analyze claim frequency and severity metrics, and communicates results to underwriting and claims management. In concert with finance, produces premium, loss ratio, and expense projections for the planning process. Work with catastrophe management and reinsurance departments to manage concentration and provide an economic view of reinsurance purchase options. Assist in finding new opportunities, including building technical pricing models and analyzing performance. Performs other duties as assigned, including collaborating with Business Intelligence and Predictive Modeling. Qualifications: Must Haves: Minimum of six years of actuarial experience and passed five actuarial exams or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience is considered a minimum of 15 years of relevant P&C actuarial experience. Strong knowledge of actuarial procedures and methodologies, including pricing, reserving, and modeling. Strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills. Ability to build mutual trust. Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships. Ability to communicate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences. Results-oriented, this person must have the ability and experience to quickly gain the respect of others within IAT Insurance Group, the industry, and the community in which they exist. To qualify, all applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship for employment purposes now or in the future. Preferred to Have: Eight years of actuarial experience. Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society pursuing Fellowship. Homeowners, Property, and cat modeling experience. Experience with SQL and Python experience. Experience with Verisk, S&P, and other industry sources. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base salary for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as a candidates qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographical location related to this specific role. The total compensation will include a base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(K) match, profit-sharing opportunities, and more.
