English Teacher Leave Replacement (Middle School)

What Youll DoEnglish teachers at Avenues help students become skilled, passionate, and joyful readers and writers. Students will read from diverse literature. They will write frequently for different purposes and will continue to develop their vocabulary, speaking, listening, writing and viewing skills. In grades 6-8, we employ a range of instructional modes. To support students, teachers design mini-lessons to teach targeted, dynamic literacy strategies, and hold reading and writing conferences with individual students. Teachers use discussions to foster skills of listening, accountable talk, and collaboration. This role is compensated on a salary basis prorated for the duration of the assignment.If hired for this position, the annual compensation range is $72,000- $110,000 depending on skills and experience. Leave positions for a duration of less than 3 months are not benefits eligible.
