Early Childhood Literacy Teacher

Wise Wonder Enrichment is a premier enrichment center with a mission of bringing early literacy skills back to the forefront of education in NYC. We are seeking an energetic, confident and outgoing FT teacher to join our team!Join us at our Ridgewood NJ Studio!Our Literacy Studio is all about the LOVE of reading! We teach it, absorb it and spread the love of reading each day! We make a significant difference in the lives of young children and families through our lesson plans that are designed in-house for children ages 6 months to 10 years old. We read, write, create, and enjoy each moment! It is our own unique way of putting our stamp on the world!In this teaching role, you will:Implement our unique, creative and original curriculum supporting students in their social, emotional, cognitive and physical growthHelp to convey a vision of the Wise Wonder educational and environmental approach through strong oral and written communication skillsHave an understanding of the literacy needs and development at and around different early childhood levelsAssess each students abilities and progress throughout the school yearInteract directly with Parents/Caregivers who are often present in the classRole Expectations:Great attitudeA love of Books!Personable nature with both children and parentsAbility to manage multiple tasks at onceClassroom management skillsClassroom planning and creativitySelf-starting natureAbility to assist with classroom and studio prepExperience with children 5 years and underAbility to lift up to 50 lbs if necessaryCPR certification preferredDesired Skills + Qualifications:Bachelors Degree (Early Childhood Education, Special Education or related field) required2 years of Early Childhood teaching experienceExcellent communication skillsExcellent observation and supervision skillsAdmin skills a bonusThis is a full-time position Mon - Friday 9 -5, the position starts immediatelyEach candidate will be trained in our The Wise Wonder Curriculum + ApproachWe are hiring for this position for an immediate start! Training will be provided!Annual salary is $51,000 with an additional stipend for transportation.Health & Dental insurance & 401k Available Excellent PTO provided
