Job Overview:As Bookkeeper, you will serve as the on-site office coverage a Mitchell-Lama Cooperative in Brooklyn. You will be assist with front desk coverage, general administrative tasks in addition to assisting with accounts payable and receivable functions.Your Responsibilities:Process a variety of resident charges, credits and payments for a Mitchell-Lama cooperative, including commercial units.Review and monitor all account receivables.Review and process for deposit physical checks and any other income received for the assigned building.Work together with properties financial analysts, accounts payable and client payroll departments to ensure timely payment of vendors.Work closely with the Assistant Manager to obtain necessary documents regarding change of unit ownership, first months rent, new and additional security deposits.Work closely with property managers for unit move outs and refunding Equity to shareholders.Assist the management team with all resident inquiries regarding charges, credits and payments.Respond to email inquiries in regard to all resident questions, issues, and concerns.Work closely with property managers in posting monthly late fees.Assist with all resident inquiries regarding charges, credits and payments.Respond to email inquiries in regard to all resident questions, issues, and concerns.Complete special projects as assigned by the Assistant and Property ManagerProcess HPD Income Affidavits.Process SCRIE and DRIE applicationsCommunicate effectively with residents and vendors to help solve problems.Consistently maintain knowledge and changes of the property.Maintain the accuracy of building and tenant files to ensure accurate records are kept up to date.Answer phone calls, messages, and emails promptly; within a few hours but never to exceed 24 hours.Track Homeowners insurance policies, enter coverage amount and policy expiration dates in database. Send reminders for renewals as needed.Track Garage Documents in database. Send reminders to update expired documents as needed.Skills & Qualifications:2 - 5 years' experience in Mitchell-Lama residential cooperative property management preferred.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Must have superior verbal and written communications skills and proven customer service exposure.Excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Experience with a high work load volume while also knowing when to ask for help and ask questions when the information is unfamiliar.Strong organizational and communication skills is a must.A high level of energy and a strong bias to service excellence and getting things done with a sense of urgency.Possesses personal and professional integrity.Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.Diligent and self-motivated.A self-starter who leads by example and who is respected by all levels of employees.What We Offer:As a full-time non-exempt associate, you will be eligible for full comprehensive benefits to include your choice of multiple medical plans, dental, vision, life insurance, short term disability, legal, and identity theft.
