The Junior Designer, while working under the direct supervision of a more senior Designer or Project Manager, performs a broad variety of drafting and/or design tasks. Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and Technical Drawing - Under supervision, may make updates and changes to existing drawings or designs. Work with design team to develop design ideasFixture and finish review and selection - Research and select fixtures and finishes to use in projectsSpace Planning - Under supervision, develops preliminary space plansDetailing - Assist and learn detailingFurniture, Fixture, and Cost Estimating - Assist and learn the production of furniture & finish packages, along with cost estimatingSite Verifications and Field Surveys - Assists senior staff with verification of site details to support design. Assists in field surveying of client spaces.Corrects drawings red lined by othersClient Service- Supports the team in collecting information for client assessment; may attend interviews, provide documentation support; developing skills working with Affinity program tool Education, Work Experience, and Leadership EducationGraduate of architecture or design school: equivalent experience may be substitutedWork Experience2+ years experience or equivalent educational experience: strongly prefer experience working in corporate interior design projectsLeadershipWorks under the leadership of a more senior team member.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesDesign and TechnicalWorking knowledge of the application of color, materials and aesthetic formFamiliarity with space planning methodologyFamiliarity with furnishings and equipmentBasic sketching and rendering skillsBasic interior architecture detailing skillsWorking knowledge of CDs and proceduresCommitment to support projects through peaks and valleysSystemIntermediate MS Office Suite skillsIntermediate Revit skillsBasic Adobe Creative SuiteCommunicationBasic verbal written and communication skills**A portfolio is required with your application.
