In this role, you will be instrumental in building out the process and tools necessary to run an effective Data Governance program for a Fortune 100 company. This critical role will work closely with Legal, Privacy, Information Security, Engineering and business stakeholders in creating a roadmap for the Governance program and its constituent processes. The role will also work on requirements for appropriate tool selection and development to support the program. Program components include:Supporting Transparency, including automated tools to support Data Discovery so that we know where and what types of sensitive data live in our complex multi-cloud and on-premise environment, and improving Data Quality and Consistency, including a foundation for data observability and monitoring across all enterprise data. This role will establish a base for measuring data quality, surface areas of low quality, and hold Data owners and stewards accountable for addressing the gaps. Help to define appropriate tool solution, get Product owner and manager buy-in, and provide development requirements and roadmap. The position will be based in Pleasanton, CA or Phoenix, AZ.Main responsibilitiesOwn the Data Governance roadmap, prioritization, and delivery of supporting tool functionality and socializing program requirements across the enterprise.Collaborate with data engineering, vendor, data product management and business stakeholders to define and prioritize key program milestones and coordinate relevant POCs to evaluate supporting tools.Define and monitor relevant Governance execution metrics for adoption progress across the organization.Work with Governance stakeholders to get blessing on metrics measuring program progress; metrics to be distributed to leadership in flash reporting.Create RACI framework and procedure documents to support program goals.Facilitate cross-functional working groups to solicit input and feedback.The salary range is $131,200 to $183,640 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.A copy of the full job description can be made available to you.What we are searching forSeven (7) + years progressive experience implementing Governance programs and supporting data toolsExceptional writing skills is required, particularly in the drafting of strategy and requirements documentsAbility to translate business requirements into governance tool functionality and feature requirements is requiredExperience developing a roadmap for and implementing one or more industry standard lineage, data catalog, data quality, or data observability tools is requiredAn Agile Product Management mindsetExperience in metadata management is preferredAbility to routinely interact with multiple levels of the organization including executive level leadershipAbility to communicate effectively via multiple channels (verbal, written, chat platforms) with technical and non-technical staffAbility to work collaboratively with multiple functional teams, setting a vision and driving common understandingExperience with cloud platforms and data warehouse practices and architecture is preferredCPG or Retail background is preferredWhat is it like at Albertsons?Our 290,000 associates have a passion for great service and building lasting relationships with our customers.
