Underwriting Manager

Growing Mortgage Lender is seeking an Underwriting Manager to manage the department and ensure all policies and metrics are followed. The Underwriting Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the underwriting department. Successful candidates for this position will have extensive experience in underwriting, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the underwriting team and ensure that all policies and protocols are followedEnsure that underwriting decisions are made accurately and in a timely mannerManage the underwriting process from start to finish, including reviewing applications, conducting risk assessments, and making underwriting decisionsProvide training and guidance to underwriting staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledgeStay up-to-date with changes in underwriting regulations, trends, and best practicesCollaborate with other departments such as sales, marketing, and claims to ensure that underwriting aligns with overall business goalsPrepare and present reports on underwriting activities to senior managementQualificationsBachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years' experience in underwritingExperience leading a team of underwritersExcellent analytical skills and attention to detailStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to adapt to changing market conditions and regulationsStrong computer skills, including experience with underwriting softwareAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesBenefits: PTO, Medical, Dental, 401(k)Compensation: Commensurate with Experience
