Toano, VA is close to major Historic Triangle attractions such as Colonial Williamsburg, and the Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA theme parks.Job DescriptionThe Plant Forming Operator/Journeyman operates the bottle forming machine, tools and equipment, performs defect analysis (gauging and visual) and necessary adjustments to the machine, feeder, stacker, etc. and assists with breakdown repairs and job changes.The Plant Forming Operator/Journeyman WillPerform necessary doping and swabbing of mold equipment, adjust temperatures of mold equipment to the feeder and change, or assist in changing, blanks, molds, finish mold changes and record reason.Reports any bad glass, bad machine conditions, or defective machine parts which cannot be corrected to crew-leaders and supervisors.May be assigned responsibility for additional equipment, up to and including, the point at which the bottles enter the lehr.Gauge weight and selected physical dimensions on complete set-out and/or random sample and record using the computer terminal.Re-qualify all cavities following any major downtimeThe Plant Forming Operator/Journeyman Should HavePrevious experience with bottle tongs, hand tools, swabs, conveyors, ware gauges, computer terminal, etc. and materials including molten glass, molds, oil, dope, gloves, compressed air, etc.Ability to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and some holiday coverageAbility to work safely in a hot, dirty and loud environmentCommitment to meeting quality standards, comply with SOP's, and willing to learn SPCQualificationsMust be able to work an 8-hour rotating schedule(rotating between 1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts - days off rotate as well)High School Diploma or equivalentForming Operator Journeyman Card required Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis Additional InformationWhat We Offer:Hourly Wage: $34.83 hr.O-I offers a very generous benefit package - some of the highlights are:Vacation time and paid holidays Medical, dental, prescription and vision care coverage Pre-tax accounts Well-being program which includes opportunity to earn employer contributions Life and AD&D Insurance Disability Insurance 401(k) retirement saving plans with employer contributions Financial advisors to assist with retirement planning and financial wellness Employee Assistance Program All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.O-I is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture.
