We are looking to hire a Tax & Estates Tax Attorney to our growing team.Role and *Integral involvement in creating departmental content for the company's website plus white papers on tax & financial planningWork together with Financial Advisors and their teams to analyze, design and implement comprehensive financial and estate plans for high net-worth clientsSupport Financial Advisors throughout the financial & tax planning process, incorporating products into that planning where appropriateAnalyze various estate & business documents (such as Wills, Trusts, Shareholder Agreements, Entity Operating Agreements, Charitable Trusts, etc.), plus various tax returns (like income, gift, estate, etc.) and compose executive summaries of them with commentaryReview current asset titling, including joint ownership with family members or others (such as tenancy in common, joint tenancy with rights of survivorship, tenancy by the entirety, etc.)Provide income tax strategies and analysis for entrepreneurs/business owners, including recommendations of qualified retirement plans and deferred compensation plansResearch legal & tax issues and discuss them with client's tax and/or legal counsel to build a consensus on the client's best course of action and then coordinate with those tax & legal advisors to implement the client's decisionsProvide broad-based internal consulting to Financial Advisors, serving as a resource to answer financial and tax questionsParticipate on and contribute to various committees within the company, plus support the Director of Integrated Planning as neededProvide internal training to Financial Advisors and their staff, plus participate in recruiting on behalf of the firm*2+ years of experience at a law firm, accounting firm, financial service organization or combination thereofJuris Doctor (JD) degreePreferred *Master of Law in Taxation is helpfulFamiliarity with income tax planning strategies is helpfulCPA or IRS enrolled agent designation is welcomedComfortable meeting with and presenting strategies to clients & Financial Advisors in an environment which may be demanding and fast paced at timesPlease note that the title for this position could change, since the candidate hired may not provide legal advice for the firm
