Peckar & Abramson, P.C. is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, with a positive and professional attitude. The successful candidate will provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process. This candidate will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative support to their assigned attorney(s) and will work closely with other team members and paralegals. The candidate will perform duties with a proactive approach. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. Primary ResponsibilitiesPrepare, proofread and edit a wide range of documents ensuring high quality and accuracy.File documents with various courts and boards. Act as a liaison between attorneys, internal departments, and third-party vendors.Maintain attorney calendars and docket case deadlines. Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, conference calls, send calendar invites and reminders, and reserve conference rooms.Send monthly firm invoices to clients and process vendor invoices in a timely manner.Prepare and process check requests and business expense reimbursements.Organize and manage case files/e-mails in a timely manner within the document management system.Perform conflict requests, and draft engagement letters and new client/matter intake forms.Manage all incoming and outgoing mail, e-mail, faxes and phone calls in a confidential and efficient manner.Coordinate domestic travel arrangements.Assist team members with overflow work and provide backup support during periods of annual or personal leave.Assist with knowledge sharing and mentoring of co-workers and new employees, as requested.May perform some paralegal duties, as assigned. May be required to bill for some tasks.Essential QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent, college degree preferred.Legal assistant certification or diploma is a plus.***** 5+ years proven experience working as a legal secretary, legal assistant, administrative assistant, or paralegal. Law firm experience required.
