The company, originally founded in 1985, is located in Erie, PA. We have recently added another 23,000 square feet. In addition, we have a very significant new product line scheduled to be launched in 2025. To support this continual growth, we are looking for Mechanical Engineers with machine design experience.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Mechanical Engineer at Composiflex in Erie, PA. The Mechanical Engineer will work directly with our Principal Engineer in the design of equipment and integration of robotics for volume production.Essential DutiesMechanical design of single and multifunction assemblies to aid in product manufacturing.Creation of equipment requirements based on product manufacturing methods.Review of vendors for component selection.Confirm component selections for effective assembly performance.Manage assembly of equipment and initial testing.Troubleshoot issues (quality, efficiency, etc.) on assembly line or machine.Communication liaison between engineering and production.Collaborates efforts with team members and works as a team player.Provide technical assistance.Provide hands-on problem resolutions.Report and facilitate correction of out-of-specification conditions.Determine the proper manufacturing process steps.Create and analyze standards and operation layouts.Select and implement proper fixturing and tooling for machining and/or assembly job.Perform capital equipment justification as needed.Plan and implement preventive and corrective actions for reducing scrap, rework, and down time.Research and implement new technological ideas to keep the cell continuously improving.Recommend and implement process improvements.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred (Electrical or Industrial to be considered dependent on relevant experience)Must have 5 years of experience in relevant industrial machinery design. Must be able to demonstrate project management experience on complex projectsStrong written and oral communication abilities and excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently or to participate on and lead cross functional teamsStrong analytical skills to access situations and drive decision making.Competent in 3D modeling software and procedures for component and complex assemblies using Solidworks, Catia, Creo, Inventor, etc.Solid skills in manufacturing process and a general business understanding.Knowledge of project management principles including proficient use of tools and software such as MS Project or other systems.Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly languageExceptionally self-motivated and directed. Energetic, forward-thinking and creative with high ethical standardsKeen attention to detailVersed in the use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D Inventor and Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Power Point
