We are seeking a talented and motivated Designer / Drafter to support our engineering team in creating technical drawings and layouts for a variety of electrical and structural projects. This role offers opportunities to grow into a senior designer position over time.Job Overview:As a Designer / Drafter, you will work closely with engineers and project managers to develop accurate technical drawings, schematics, and layouts. Your work will directly support project delivery by ensuring designs meet industry standards and customer specifications. This position focuses on producing high-quality design work that integrates with both electrical and civil/structural disciplines. Candidates with 3-5 years of experience are preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong skills and the desire to grow are also encouraged to apply.You will have the opportunity to develop expertise in drafting tools like AutoCAD and Inventor, contributing to innovative engineering solutions. This role is ideal for individuals looking to advance into senior designer roles over time, with continuous learning and development built into the position.Key Responsibilities:1 - Physical Electrical:Develop electrical layouts, including physical plans, clearances, key plans, and wireway designsProduce conduit, trench, and bus support designs to meet project specificationsCreate layouts for transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, lightning arresters, PTs, and CCVTs2 - Protection & Control Design:Prepare line drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layoutsIntegrate SCADA/Alarm systems into design packages3 - Software & Tool Proficiency:Utilize AutoCAD as a primary drafting tool (required)Leverage 3D drafting tools like Inventor or similar software for advanced designs4 - Collaboration with Engineering Teams:Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure designs align with project needsAdapt to changing project requirements and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesQualifications:3-5 years of relevant drafting experience (preferred, but not required)Proficiency in AutoCAD is essentialExperience with 3D drafting tools (Inventor or similar) is highly desirableElectrical DC or AC basicsFamiliarity with electrical and civil/structural designsAbility to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearlyWhy Join Us?At Hive Power Engineering LLC, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging drafting projects that contribute to the growth of the power industry.
