Cavalry values creativity, passion, drive, and personal accountability in its employees.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time role for a Regulatory Counsel (Attorney) in Greenwich, CT located just north of the Westchester County Airport near Armonk, NY, with flexibility for some remote work. The Regulatory Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice on regulatory compliance, legal issues, regulatory affairs, and regulations related to consumer debt collection. Candidates must be in reasonable commuting distance to the office. Relocation is NOT available.Responsibilities *****Assisting the Chief Compliance Officer in advising business units on compliance issues.Researching and analyzing applicable laws and regulations, and industry and trade organization trends in the compliance area.Overseeing maintenance of Company policy and procedure matrices; Consulting with business managers on policy documentation requirements, content and format, and facilitating regular updates.Reviewing and revising company policies, procedures, training materials and manuals as necessary.Reviewing and analyzing correspondence from regulatory authorities.Investigating and making recommendations to the Compliance Committee regarding necessary corrective actions with respect to regulatory inquiries.Investigating and assisting in the preparation of responses to consumer complaints received from consumer and regulatory agencies including drafting responses to regulatory inquiries.Identifying areas of opportunity in company policies and procedures based on investigations conducted with respect to regulatory complaints.Tracking regulatory inquiries to monitor trends and developments.Adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.Behaving in a manner that is consistent with the core values of the company and professional standards.Pursuing professional development opportunities, including external and internal training, and professional memberships.Performing other job related duties as assigned.QualificationsAdmission to the NY or CT BarStrong critical thinking and organizational skillsStrong computer skills with intermediate level skill in MS Word and Excel.Strong written and oral communication skills. Must have strong grammatical competence.Ability to communicate and work with a range of personalities.Experience in the consumer financial services industry is preferred. Salary range $85,000 to $110,000 based on experience.Candidates must be able to perform in a team based, fast paced, deadline driven environment. Position is currently eligible for hybrid work between home and office after training period and assessment of performance but is not guaranteed indefinitely.
