The Senior Estimator is a senior-level team member who provides management, leadership and vision to ensure the organization meets its short-term and long-term objectives. They help create enduring policies and a company culture that strengthens operational efficiency and generates revenue. The Senior Estimator will report to the Chief Financial Officer. Primary Responsibilities:Estimating (55%)Stays abreast of current and potential upcoming storm work to forecast duration of job, estimated cost, and estimated revenuesLeads the development of comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for projects based on detailed analysis of plans, specifications, and contractsAnalyzes project requirements to determine labor, materials, and equipment costs based on historical data and current market trendsPerform risk assessment and evaluate project scope to ensure realistic pricingWork with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to gather necessary data for estimatesRemains apprised of current labor contracts and upcoming increases and other changesRFP and RFI Management (40%)Manages the end-to-end RFP process, including drafting, reviewing, and submitting proposals for potential clients for the Tempest family of companiesReviews RFP requirements to ensure compliance and develop comprehensive responsesMaintains an RFP database and tracks all opportunities, submissions, and outcomesCollaborates with sales, legal, operations, finance, & leadership teams to gather and present critical information in proposalsPresents current and existing business opportunities to Senior Leadership with analysis of value and requirements to modify/launchEvaluates company performance and recommends strategies to improve resultsPerforms other related duties as assignedOther (5%)Assumes lead on various ad-hoc projects as assigned, both internally and externallyAssumes support role in various aspects for all departments as neededRequired Skills/Abilities:In-depth understanding of the industry and the workings of different departments of a company, including finance, sales and human resourcesExcellent leadership and organizational skillsUnderstanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Marketing and Fleet ManagementKnowledge of accounting, financial analysis and data analysisExperience in budgeting and salesSuperior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skillsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or a related fieldExtensive and diversified background with at least 7 years of related experienceProven experience in preparing cost estimates for large-scale projectsFamiliarity of estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, PlanSwift, or equivalent) a plusFamiliarity of RFP/RFI portals (e.g. Ariba, Taulia, Infor, Smart GEP, Oracle, VendorLink, SAP) a plusExcellent knowledge of bid preparation processes and contract termsStrong financial acumen and attention to detailAbility to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with emphasis on ExcelStrong written and verbal communication skillsPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
