This does not include time as an Intern or PostDoc.PCC Hydrogen has groundbreaking technology to produce hydrogen from ethanol and other renewable fuels in a distributed and cost-competitive way. In addition to producing pure hydrogen, this innovative multi-patented process allows for easy capture of pure CO2 byproduct gas, for sequestration enabling production of negative carbon intensity hydrogen.We are looking for an experienced mechanical or process engineer that will grow with the company to a position of senior management with oversight of all engineering-related operations.A successful candidate will:Interpret and contribute to process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).Assist in the design, construction and supervision of operations in pilot and demonstration unitsCoordinate the engineering work for the buildout of a network of hydrogen production facilitiesAssess existing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvementHave knowledge of the scale-up of equipment like pumps, heat exchangers and air coolers, reactors, and hydrogen separation equipment.Assist in the development of control system algorithms to achieve operating system functionality and safety requirements to maximize system capability.Design and incorporate safety practices in hydrogen production, processing and handling.Participate and contribute to Process Hazard Analysis reviews (i.e. risk review, HAZID, HAZOP/LOPA).Communicate technical information to peers (internal or external) for review and comment.Problem-solve and take appropriate action to ensure continuous and reliable operation of equipment and systems.Conduct risk assessments: Ensure projects meet required specifications and maintain safety standardsEvaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.Supervise, coordinate, contribute and review work of third-party engineers to accomplish objectives.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Ph.D. or M.S Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.5+ years of experience working as a Process or Mechanical Engineer within the Energy & Chemicals Industry (not including post-doc or internships).Experience applying standard engineering techniques, "Žprocedures, and criteria to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Five+ years of experience in the design and operation of pilot, demonstration, and/or commercial units (not including post-doc or internships).Experience in Project Management from inception to completion.Strong entrepreneurial spirit.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSProject Management experience with familiarity with MS Project or similarExperience as a Process Engineer in the gas processing and/or refining industries.Licensed Professional Engineer.Proficiency with Process Engineering Computer Software (AspenTech suite or similar)Proficiency with control and measurement systems software (NI suite or similar)Experience with permitting processes (hazardous gases, air quality and emissions, wastewater, etc.).Working knowledge of fuel cells and electrolyzers.Experience with hydrogen compression, storage and delivery systems.Experience in catalyst manufacturing.WORK ENVIRONMENTWe are committed to sustainable energy solutions that create a more abundant, affordable, and cleaner future.
