Overview:Our team at Sourced Economics is looking for a Research Analyst to support client projects, assist with solution development, and contribute to our research strategy. Based in Arlington, VA, we work on a hybrid model (2-3 days in the office), but we welcome applications from candidates who prefer remote work. This position is open for immediate hire. Compensation includes base pay with potential for a performance-based bonus.Background:At Sourced Economics, our mission is to build the bridge between business and economics, as well as academia broadly. We use math and statistics to structure and analyze the extensive challenges confronted daily by global strategy departments. Supported by a network of more than 250 economists with diverse research interests, our projects to-date span the categories of pricing and revenue management, supply chain finance, market entry, organizational restructuring, sustainability, and more.We are an early-stage company, founded in March 2022, though growing fast. The clients we work with operate primarily in four verticals: industrial manufacturing, mining and metals, consumer products, and food and beverage. While our functional scope is broad, our research methods are consistent across projects and include econometrics, analytical modeling, academic literature reviews, and general macroeconomic research.As our business expands, we're looking for passionate analysts eager to craft research strategies and gain experience in a startup environment. Some of the current research tasks include reviewing and summarizing economic literature, locating and analyzing data sets, building regression and forecasting models, and more.Role:The Research Analyst will work closely with team members to support a large portfolio of research activities. Client initiatives might include:Creating visualizations and reporting tools, especially for key economic indicators, forecasts, commodity price data, and statistical measures relevant to our clients markets.Assisting with statistical model development and analytics, particularly around pricing, supply chain management, and market research such as feature value analysis.Reviewing, interpreting, and summarizing extensive academic literature to contribute to generalized analytical models for critical business decisions, like product selection and market entry.Conducting scenario analysis to assess the impacts of various market developments on client operations, including judgment-based forecasting.Review competitive intelligence, company whitepapers, notable reports, and other industry documents.Supporting the development of cohesive presentations and perspectives for clients and for business development.Qualifications:We welcome all candidates with a passion for business, economic, and scientific research, and a willingness to grow. Preferred qualifications include:Experience in conducting market research and literature reviews.Strong familiarity with research concepts, especially on economic topics, and a strong interest in applying these in a business context.Strong familiarity with data analysis and regression modeling; additional interest in areas like game theory, forecasting, monetary policy, or a field of data science is a plus.To apply:Please attach a resume using Easy Apply.
