The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, a strong work ethic, and a passion for providing sophisticated legal counsel in the areas of tax, trusts, and estates law. A background in tax law or trusts and estates matters, along with an LL.M. in Taxation or at least 2 years of relevant experience, is required.As an Associate Attorney in this department, you will work on a broad range of complex matters, advising clients on tax planning, estate planning, trust administration, and related transactional issues. You will collaborate with senior attorneys to provide innovative solutions for high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses. Key Responsibilities:Advise clients on various tax and estate planning matters, including the formation and administration of trusts, estate tax strategies, and charitable planning.Assist in the preparation of estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advanced directives.Conduct legal research on complex tax and estate planning issues.Draft legal memoranda, trust agreements, tax returns, and other related documents.Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to develop customized estate plans that align with the clients personal and financial objectives.Collaborate with other practice groups to address multi-disciplinary issues involving tax law, business law, and family wealth planning.Stay current with developments in tax law and trust & estate planning.Participate in client meetings, legal strategy discussions, and other aspects of client service.Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.LL.M. in Taxation preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of experience focusing on tax law, trusts and estates, or related fields.Strong technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws, estate planning strategies, and trust administration.Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage complex matters and deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team-oriented environment.Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve complex legal issues.Preferred Skills and Experience:Experience with estate and gift tax planning, probate matters, and trust administration.Knowledge of relevant state and federal regulations impacting trusts and estates, including tax return preparation and compliance.
