Our client has had successful operations since the 19th century and are a specialized provider of custom contract packaging for the US market. We have partnered with them in their search for a Plastics Plant Supervisor in New York.What Youll Be ***** Reviews production reports, time sheets, and manages administrative paperworkAssigns employees to tasks and machines, coordinating with other shifts and departmentsProvides training in department procedures, machine operation, safe work practices, and assists with production issuesEvaluates employee performance, documents deficiencies, and handles disciplinary actionsEnsures an injury-free work environment and addresses safety concerns. Hearing protection is required when in close proximity to grinding machines and safety shoes are required in this work environmentInterviews, evaluates, and recommends candidates for job openingsOccasionally will operate machines and take on special assignments as neededWhat Youll Need to Be ***** 3+ years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentPreference given to candidates with experience in Thermoforming processesPossess a mechanical aptitude with a passion or manufacturingMust be physically able to perform duties (standing & walking up to 8 hours per day, occasionally operating mechanical lift trucks, ability to perform visual inspections of products, etc)
