Our teams have repeatedly been recognized for outstanding performance by some of the most prestigious organizations in the world including The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, NASA& Northrop Grumman.Sourcing Category Leader(Marine Systems)Position ProfileThis position is responsible for the strategic sourcing of materials and services for one or more categories. Machined parts, raw materials (bar stock, forgings & castings and plastics). Responsibilities will include gathering sourcing requirements, surveying the market, developing RFP and/or writing proposals, negotiating supply contracts, and selecting new sources of supply to meet business needs. Drive year over year supplier development, spend productivity and relationship management. Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineering, Quality Inspection, & Manufacturing Engineering on non-conforming material issues and supplier corrective actions (SCAR's). Follow-up with stakeholders to ensure contract terms are correctly reflected in the supply chain system of record.Minimum Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (with MBA preferred)10 years sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment, A&D industry segment a plus5+ years' experience sourcing machined parts with a working knowledge of machine shop capabilitiesKnowledge of raw materials, various metals alloys, bar stock, forgings & castings and various plasticsStrong understanding of category and supply chain concepts, practices and proceduresStrategic thinker with excellent communication and negotiation skillsComputer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and ERP experienceMust be a US CitizenEssential Or Primary / Key ResponsibilitiesPartner cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to capture and address sourcing requirementsWork closely with Design Engineers and category supply base to reduce no bids and lower costsIdentify new sources and negotiate agreements to help meet strategic business objectivesDevelop and implement sourcing strategies to manage category spend and supply risksLead supplier development process by evaluating suppliers' performance and facilitating improvementsAnalyze category spend and proactively identify opportunities for improvementReport metrics and corrective actions progress against category targetsAuthorize purchasing master data maintenance to reflect contracted price, terms and conditionsUtilize the company's current and participate in the implementation of a new ERP systemAdditional Duties / ResponsibilitiesBring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organizationAbide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibrationThe temperature of the work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.This is a full-time position. Hours of work are 40 hours/week.
