SHIFT:Day shift, Monday through Friday. Subject to change according to business needs.POSITION SUMMARY:As a High-Tech Ice Cream Plant Manager, you'll play a crucial role in leading the Ice Cream Operations team overseeing the production, quality control, and efficiency of our state-of-the-art ice cream manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities will span from developing a safety and quality focused culture to managing production processes. If you're passionate about ice cream, technology, and leading a dynamic team, this role is perfect for you!ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Team Leadership:Recruit, train, and manage production staff, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.Foster a positive work environment, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching as needed.Production Management:Supervise all aspects of ice cream production, including mixing, aging, freezing, product filling, and packaging. Experience with extruded novelties is a plus.Supervise all aspects of a powder blending facility co-located with the ice cream plant.Optimize production schedules to meet demand while minimizing waste.Collaborate with R&D teams to introduce new flavors, product lines, and adhere to customer specifications.Quality Assurance:Implement quality control procedures to maintain consistent and excellent product quality.Monitor production lines, conduct regular inspections, and address any deviations promptly.Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.Equipment and Technology:Oversee maintenance and operation of high-tech ice cream production equipment, including extruded novelties, bulk fillers, and high-speed primary and secondary packaging.Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance efficiency.Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate repairs.Inventory and Logistics:Manage inventory levels, raw materials, and finished goods.Coordinate logistics for distribution and delivery.Optimize supply chain processes to minimize costs and lead times.Budgeting and Cost Control:Develop and manage production budgets.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.Monitor expenses related to labor, materials, and utilities.Sustainability:Implement industry leading sustainability practices within the plant, such as waste reduction and energy efficiency.Develop and implement sustainable packaging options.POSITION SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Experience, Skills and Knowledge:Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).Proven experience in food production management, preferably in ice cream or dairy products.Strong technical aptitude and familiarity with automated production systems.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, FDA, SQF, etc.).Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.Physical Requirements:Occasionally subject to up to at least 92db's with hearing protectionLifting: up to 20lbs occasionallyWalking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, regularlyReaching: Extending hands and arms in any directionStooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist occasionallyTalking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Processing paperwork, filing, typing, 10-key)Operate office machinery (eg.
