Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Master Scheduler/Purchasing Manager to oversee and optimize their production scheduling and procurement processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in the fabrication and powder coating industry, with proven experience managing complex schedules and coordinating resources effectively.Key Responsibilities:Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing scheduling and purchasing team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering a positive customer experience.Customer Expectation Management: Maximize internal capacities while building a network of external resources to meet customer commitments. Manage lead times and ensure on-time delivery (OTD).Strategic Sourcing & Inventory Management: Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and secure favorable terms with suppliers. Manage made-to-stock inventory programs to optimize inventory turns and reduce supply chain costs.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and finance teams to align procurement activities with business objectives and resolve scheduling or production issues.Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain production schedules to ensure timely order completion, optimizing resource use in a fast-paced environment.Capacity Planning & Resource Coordination: Collaborate with production, procurement, and quality control teams to align schedules with material availability, machine capacity, and labor requirements.Process Improvement: Continuously improve scheduling processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and minimize production downtime.Problem Solving: Resolve scheduling conflicts, production delays, and other issues impacting delivery timelines.Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on production schedules, performance metrics, and resource utilization to support decision-making and strategic planning.Compliance: Ensure all scheduling and procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.Purchasing: Oversee procurement activities to align with the companys goals and objectives.Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience in Scheduling (5+ years), Purchasing (2+ years), and/or Supply Management (5-10 years)Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain (preferred)Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in team developmentStrong capacity planning skills, with experience in aligning production capacity with demand forecastsAdvanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (preferred)Financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost analysisSelf-motivated, able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent organizational, analytical, and detail-oriented skillsExpertise in supplier relations and negotiations, with a track record of securing favorable terms and driving supply chain efficienciesFamiliarity with manufacturing quality control processes (e.g., ISO standards)Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teamsTechnical proficiency in fabrication techniques such as welding, machining, and assemblyLocation: This role requires weekly travel between our client's facilities in Erie and North East.Why Apply?Challenging Role: This position offers the chance to engage in complex and rewarding projects, driving innovation and making a meaningful impact.Comprehensive Benefits Package: Our client offers a competitive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), PTO, employee assistance programs, and more.Career Growth Opportunities: Join a company positioned for sustained growth, offering opportunities for advancement and professional development.Long-Term Stability: With a focus on long-term growth, our client provides job stability and a clear path for career advancement in a growing industry.If you are a results-driven professional with a passion for scheduling and procurement in a dynamic environment, this opportunity is for you!
