If you have any interest in learning more, we encourage you to apply with your updated resume below. ** Lab Technician Contract Location: Yonkers, NY Key ***Relieves and assists departmental personnel, as directed, of tasks including some tasks that require special technical knowledge, experience or skills.Under general supervision by Project Leader or Manager, prepares tests set-ups and apparatus of standard and non-standard types from specifications and diagrams, not necessarily detailed, and of relatively complicated nature, but does not perform pedigree.Assists product testing staff in performing tests. Conducts a variety of routine and limited tests and experiments without close supervision, as well as clerical functions.• Checks calculations performed by engineering personnel and, from time to time, perform calculations as directed.• Maintains and repairs laboratory equipment.â—‹ Strives to ensure that test data meet established standards for accuracy, repeatability, reproducibility, and dependabilityâ—‹ Provides accurate test data to others for analysis and correlation.â—‹ Working to develop an expertise in a single product or services category.â—‹ Participates as a member of a product testing team.â—‹ Receives test samples, performs transpositional pedigree, and prepares necessary records.â—‹ Conducts a variety of product testing and completes related checking, calculations and the recording of results per documented procedures.â—‹ Analyzes test data for review by others; recognizes anomalies in data.â—‹ Conducts tests for research projects, as required.â—‹ Assists with the training of other Technicians, as needed.â—‹ May travel to external testing sites as required.â—‹ Performs other duties of the department, but not those of a higher level.RequirementsAppropriate combination of education and experience in a laboratory or test environment.Working under supervision, able to read and follow instructions.If assigned to Auto Test Center, must possess a driver's license and maintain the ability to drive a car.Technical aptitude and the ability to communicate test results.Able to understand products in terms of their design and function.Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.Able to use word processing and spreadsheet software, and hardware and software for data acquisition and interpretation.
