MSI Express is a single-source contract manufacturing and packaging company, delivering innovative engineering solutions from our strategically located network of manufacturing facilities.ROLE PURPOSE/POSITION SUMMARYProvides direction to the Production department's operations in areas of safety, quality, performance, service and leadership. Responsible for customer relationships by providing superior customer service through: planning, cost, efficiency, loss controls and quality assurance.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProvide leadership and direction to the production team in areas such as safety, quality, productivity, planning, cost, efficiency, GMPs and customer serviceManage the production scheduling process to meet the customer's expectations, by optimizing the use of plant to drive operationsManage product run requirements to assure compliance to customer specifications while optimizing the plant resourcesManage labor utilization to assure meeting or exceeding task expectationsManage product schedule timelines to assure meeting customer demand and scheduling resources to the daily prioritiesReport on production yield, material usage, and material loss dataCreate a positive working environment for all employees, which support continuous improvement, reinforce company philosophy and policies and treat every individual equally with respectCommunicate company philosophy and policies to hourly and management personnelCreate a positive working environment for all associates; one that supports continuous improvement, reinforces company philosophy and policies, and ensures that every individual is treated with respectDevelop the production team through effective use of Key Performance Indicators, training and production management toolsMonitor plant performance and develop/implement action plans to understand and address areas of concernMaintain continuous communication with all departments to assure production priorities and shortfalls are addressed in a timely manner, to not impact customer serviceThis position has responsibility for Food Safety and Quality within their influence. The associate in this job has the responsibility to report, in a timely manner, Food Safety and Quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action on those problemsAs a member of the management team, to recognize the SQF Practitioner as having the appropriate responsibility and authority to do his jobEnsure that all department members are informed of their responsibility to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate actionEnsure that job descriptions for those responsible for food safety are documented and include provision to cover for the absence of key personnelQUALIFICATIONS/CAPABILITY PROFILEMinimum EducationHigh School diploma requiredBachelor's degree desiredMinimum Experience5+ years' experience in Operations/Production ManagementFood manufacturing experience strongly preferredExperience with customer interactionExperience leading and developing both salaried and hourly employeesMinimum Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities Strong oral/written communication and people skillsStrong leadership skills and delegation managementStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsOperating knowledge of manufacturing equipment and systemsMetric ManagementLEAN/Six Sigma experience a plusApply today and join our rapidly growing team!- Inc. 5000 #1,085 fastest growing company in the USA.
