As our business grows exponentially, we are excited to share our passion with passionate, experienced specialists looking to join the GOAT USA team.Position OverviewThe Assistant Technical Designer will be responsible for supporting garment creation at GOAT USA. The Assistant Technical Designer will collaborate closely with the Technical Design Lead and report to the VP of Product Development + Production. This role is critical for ensuring an accurate and efficient product design process.ResponsibilitiesAccurately measure fit, Pre-Production samples and Top of Production Samples.Create garment/product BOM sheets based on direction from Product DevelopmentUpdate all Tech Packs with any changes/revisions made to product as neededTrack production samples and communication with factories to ensure sample arrival is on timeAttend fit sessions and take detailed notesAssist with keeping sample library organizedAssist TD team with pattern corrections and/or draping for selected stylesBuild collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including design, production, QC, and salesWork with multiple product categories (tops, bottoms, outerwear, accessories) for Mens/Womens/Youth knit + wovenIdentify and call out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicate all corrections and revisions to factoryRequirementsBA/BS in Fashion Technical Design requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience in the apparel industry, including patternmaking; must have experience with garment construction, sewing and measurementKnowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specs.Thorough understanding of product componentsStrong attention to detail with a solid understanding of patterns, fit, color, balance, garment construction and fabricsAbility to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are metExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong time management and organizational abilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Able and willing to work occasional nights and weekends.Desired Skills· Experience with PLM systems· Foreign language fluency in Mandarin, Spanish or Cambodian· Experience with Adobe Illustrator· Flat sketching experienceAdditional InformationFull-Time, in-personLocation: Plainview, NYEqual Employment Opportunity StatementGOAT USA is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
