Director of Contracts - U.S. Operations Position Summary:The Director of Contracts will play an integral role within the organization, overseeing the development, negotiation, and review of contracts with global customers, particularly U.S. government customers. This position ensures that agreements entered by the company align with strategic goals and comply with legal and regulatory standards. By managing the contract lifecycle from inception to conclusion, the Director of Contracts will facilitate smooth business operations and partnerships. An expertise in contract drafting, negotiation and administration, relationship building, and risk management will support company objectives, while also safeguarding its interests and minimizing potential legal issues. Through effective communication and collaboration with internal teams and external parties, the Director of Contracts will contribute to the efficient and effective execution of business strategies. This is a full time, direct hire opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI.Position Responsibilities:Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of business contracts to ensure they meet company objectives, policies and legal requirementsLead the U.S. Contracts team, including resource strategy and management, hiring, training and performance evaluation, to ensure efficient and effective contract management processesImplement and manage contract management tools, systems and procedures to streamline operations and enhance productivityCollaborate with internal departments, such as program office, legal, finance and procurement, to align contract terms with company strategies and risk management policiesAnalyze contract performance and financial implications to provide strategic recommendations and optimize business opportunitiesFacilitate dispute resolution related to contracts, working closely with legal counsel to mitigate risks and protect company interestsServe as a customer-facing representative focused on building trusted relationships with customersConduct audits of existing contracts and oversee the renewal process, ensuring compliance with changing laws, regulations, and company objectivesProvide strategic guidance supporting pricing strategies for proposalsMinimum Requirements:Degree in business, law and/or equivalent work experience10+ years of experience in Contracts, Programs, Supply Chain, or related disciplinesFamiliarity with U.S. government contracting regulations and processesAbility to possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passportDemonstrated ability to balance contractual risk and business opportunities, exhibiting a strong understanding of financial impacts to business objectivesExperience leading teams to achieve common goals and objectivesExperience in complex proposal development, pricing, negotiation and resolution of contractual issuesDemonstrated ability to think strategically and execute effectively to achieve short- and long-term objectivesDemonstrated superior negotiation and communication (oral, written, presentation) skillsDemonstrated strength in managing relationships at all levels of an organization, both internal and externalDemonstrated versatility and knowledge of cross functional organizations and impacts to the business and financial outcomesWhat This Company Offers: Assorted benefits packages that include bonus potential, health benefits, 401K, paid time off and more.About Spark Talent Acquisition:Spark Talent Acquisition is a Michigan-headquartered recruiting and staffing company that connects great talent with great employers.
