Job Title: HVAC Service Project ManagerLocation: Tinley Park, IL (with occasional travel to Wisconsin, North Chicago, and Ohio)Employment Type: Full-TimeReports To: Service ManagerJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled and organized HVAC Service Project Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial HVAC service projects. This role involves managing service schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring seamless communication with clients from project initiation through to completion. The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of HVAC systems, a strong project management background, and a commitment to client satisfaction. A great start for someone who is eventually looking to get into a sales role.Key Responsibilities:Project Planning and CoordinationDevelop and manage project schedules for HVAC service and maintenance, ensuring all timelines are realistic and adhered to.Coordinate resources, including personnel and equipment, to meet the specific needs of each service project.Work closely with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure that all project requirements are fully understood and met.Client Communication and Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, providing updates and addressing any questions or concerns.Ensure client satisfaction by managing expectations and delivering high-quality service within agreed-upon timelines and budgets.Conduct site visits as needed to monitor project progress and provide hands-on support.Documentation and ReportingOversee the management of documentation, including project contracts, RFIs, submittals, transmittals, change orders, and billing.Conduct thorough reviews of project contracts, drawings, and specifications, ensuring alignment with client requirements.Track project performance across metrics such as schedule adherence, scope changes, safety, quality, and cost.Resource and Financial ManagementMonitor project budgets, making adjustments as necessary to control costs and maintain profitability.Identify and plan for resource needs, such as manpower, equipment, and materials, ensuring efficient allocation.Manage invoicing and billing processes, including AIA management, to ensure accurate and timely financial documentation.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of project management experience in the commercial HVAC field, with a focus on service projects.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC, chiller, and boiler systems, as well as a solid grasp of industry service standards and practices.Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, and project management tools; familiarity with digital documentation tools.Core Skills:Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines.Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities.Effective analytical and problem-solving skills to address project challenges.Professional, proactive, and team-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.This position is ideal for someone looking to apply their HVAC knowledge and project management expertise to deliver outstanding service solutions.
